Clear fault codes from the app
Use "Clear fault codes" in the report's Current faults section to clear stored codes and the fault memory. You see what clearing does and doesn't do, and confirm first.
What it does, and what it doesn't
- Clears stored fault codes and the fault memory on supported cars.
- It doesn't fix the fault: if the problem persists, the code and the warning light come back.
- Key and immobilizer modules are never touched; mileage and the VIN are never changed.
Conditions
- Engine off, ignition on, battery at 12 V or more.
- Clearing happens within 30 minutes of the scan.
- Requires app 1.1.5 and device firmware 2.4.0; the app offers the update.
Step by step
- 1
Scan the car; when the report is ready, go to its Current faults section.
- 2
Tap "Clear fault codes". The app explains what clearing does and doesn't do, and asks you to confirm.
- 3
Once you confirm, the clear runs on a single-use authorization from our server.
- 4
Results are shown module by module; some modules may refuse to clear.
- 5
Emissions readiness monitors are reset; some normal driving is needed for them to complete.
Every clear stays on record
Every clear is recorded for the car and shows up with its date and module count as "Cleared with 2dakika" in the car's later reports. This needs the VIN to be read from the car in both scans. A clear in the last 30 days appears as a warning in the report summary.
On cars that report it, the report also shows the distance driven since the fault memory was last cleared and points out a recent clear. This counter can also be reset by disconnecting the battery or by workshop work.
Safety systems and responsibility
For safety-system warnings such as airbag or ABS, see a workshop before clearing. The decision to clear and its consequences are yours.
Clearing may not be used to hide a fault from a buyer or a lessee; see clause 6 of the Terms of Use.

"Clear fault codes" in the report's Current faults section clears stored codes. The engine must be off, the ignition on and the battery at 12 V or more, within 30 minutes of the scan. Clears made with 2dakika are also recorded with their date: when the VIN is read from the car, they show up in that car's later reports, and a clear in the last 30 days appears as a warning in the report summary.
Scanning is read-only, and every report states that nothing was written to the car during the scan. The only thing written to the car is a fault-code clear you confirm. Mileage, the VIN, and key and immobilizer modules are never written to.
